"Lenovo Mobile Business Group has appointed Sudhin Mathur as Managing Director - Motorola Mobility India. He has been inducted as a full-time director on the Motorola Mobility Board in India," Motorola said in statement.
The Android Marshmallow-powered device features a 5.5-inch display, 1.8 Ghz octacore processor, 32GB internal storage (expandable upto 128 GB), 13MP rear and 8MP front camera and 3,500 mAh battery.
According to research firm IDC, smartphone shipments in India jumped 21.4 percent in the July-September quarter to 28.3 million units, buoyed by a three-fold jump in demand for 4G-enabled devices.
Lenovo today also launched two new 4G handsets -- Vibe P1 and P1m -- priced at Rs 15,999 and Rs 7,999, respectively based on Android Lollipop operating system.
