CGD cos up CNG and domestic PNG prices. Are more hikes likely?

City gas distributors have increased prices of compressed natural gas and piped natural gas in their respective geographical areas by at least Re 1 per kilogram on account of rising input costs.
Mahanagar Gas hikes CNG price in Mumbai by Rs 6 to Rs 86/kg; PNG up by Rs 4 to Rs 52.50/SCM

The state-run company blamed the 40 per cent increase in input prices by the government from October 1 for the steep increase in the retail prices along with the supply cut.

With this price revision, the rate of CNG is now Rs 66/kg while piped gas now costs Rs 39.50/SCM
