Liquidity deficit in the banking system was at Rs 45,005.65 crore on February, the lowest since January 5 when it stood at Rs 28,957.58 crore
RBI said the open market operation (OMO) of government securities is being conducted based on the current assessment of prevailing and evolving market liquidity conditions.
As per consensus expectations, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) cut its policy interest rate by 25 basis points for the third time since January on Friday. It kept the cash reserve ration unchanged. In its statement RBI said there was little space for further easing.
