Warsi, who is the head of Samsung India's mobile division, has been promoted to Global Vice President, while Dipesh Shah (Samsung R&D Institute Managing Director) has been named Global Senior Vice President.
Targeting the millennials, Samsung today launched two high-end handsets in its Galaxy A series -- Galaxy A 7 and Galaxy A 5.
Samsung Z3 also comes preloaded with 'My Galaxy' that will offer personalised exclusive deals and offers to users. The device also features Mix Radio, a music streaming service offering access to a catalogue of over 30 million songs. Samsung manufactures the Tizen range in India at its facility in Noida.
Priced at Rs 57,900, Samsung's latest smart phone comes with a 5.7 quad HD display and boasts of features like live broadcasting and wireless charging and will be manufactured at the company's Noida facility
Mobile charging facility is free of cost and the time spent near the store will be utilised for product demonstrations and conversions, it added.
"Our marketshare (smartphone) has crossed 40 percent by value in June this year. Since January 2015, we continued to grow for six consecutive months and widened the gap (marketshare)," Samsung India VP marketing (IT and mobile) Asim Warsi claimed on the basis of GfK data.
The Galaxy Grand Prime 4G comes with a 5-inch quad HD display and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad core processor combined with 1GB RAM. It offers internal storage of 8GB, expandable up to 64GB via microSD card.
The company announced two 4G-enabled smartphones - Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 - priced at Rs 11,999 and Rs 14,999, respectively.
According to IDC, about 22.5 million smartphones were shipped in India in the October-December 2014 quarter with Samsung accounting for 22 percent share.
It launched two other 4G enabled smartphones Galaxy Grand Prime 4G and the Galaxy Core Prime 4G. Samsung also unveiled its slimmest Galaxy handset -- the Galaxy A7, priced at Rs 30,499.
As a part of its new Galaxy A-series, Samsung today launched the galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5 smartphones. As a surprise element it also launched the Galaxy E5 and E7 from it's E-series.
At the launch price, the Note 4 is currently is most expensive device. The previous generation Note 3 (N900) is retailing at about Rs 38,900 onwards, while its flagship Galaxy 5S is selling for about Rs 36,000.
If you are a Samsung loyalist, you will be interested in its latest smartphone offering in the Galaxy series, the Grand. It has more or less everything the Galaxy note and Galaxy S3 have but, it's cheaper!
