Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 25, went scuba diving off the shore of the Arabian Sea at the Panchkui beach in Dwarka, where he offered an underwater 'puja'. He is currently on a two-day visit to his home state of Gujarat.
Modi also declared that praying in the city submerged in water was a "very divine experience". The Prime Minister said he felt connected to an ancient era of timeless devotion.
To pray in the city of Dwarka, which is immersed in the waters, was a very divine experience. I felt connected to an ancient era of spiritual grandeur and timeless devotion. May Bhagwan Shri Krishna bless us all. pic.twitter.com/yUO9DJnYWo— Narendra Modi (@narendramodi) February 25, 2024
Before taking the holy dip on Sunday, Narendra Modi also offered prayers at Dwarkadish, a famous temple devoted to Lord Krisha in Gujarat. The Dwarkadhish Temple, which is one of the Char Dhams, is located in Gujarat at the confluence of the Gomti River and the Arabian Sea. It is a major Hindu pilgrimage attraction for Vaishnavites. Lord Krishna, also known as Dwarkadhish, or the King of Dwarka, is the main deity of the temple.
The longest cable-stayed bridge in the nation, "Sudarshan Setu," was officially inaugurated by the Prime Minister earlier in the day. It spans the Arabian Sea and connects Beyt Dwarka island to Okha on the mainland in the Devbhumi Dwarka region. He also prayed at the Beyt Dwarka temple dedicated to Lord Sri Krishna.
