UP: Major political parties on campaign trail today

Top leaders of the political parties will be campaigning in the poll-bound Uttar Pradesh on Thursday ahead of the crucial voting day on February 8.

Top leaders of the political parties will be campaigning in the poll-bound Uttar Pradesh on Thursday ahead of the crucial voting day on February 8.

Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi and Rastriya Lok Dal Chief Ajit Singh will be addressing a joint rally in Meerut. This will be a display of the alliance that was formed in December last year. Congress' Digvijaya Singh will also accompany Rahul. Meanwhile, Law Minister and Congress leader Salman Khurshid will hold a rally in Etawah.

State Chief Minister and BSP Chief Mayawati will address rallies in Faizabad and Ambedkar Nagar. Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party's Mulayam Singh will meet supporters in Gorakhpur and Maharajganj. His son Akhilesh Yadav will hold rallies in Balrampur, Siddharthnagar and Basti.

From the BJP, Sushma Swaraj and Nitin Gadkari will be addressing rallies in Lucknow. Arun Jaitley is expected to address the media too in Lucknow and then head to Rai Barelli, Barabanki and Sitapur. Meanwhile, BJP's star campainer Uma Bharati will meet supporters in Ambedkar Nagar and Basti.
