Change bank details If you have shifted to another bank and wish for your salary or provident fund (PF) to be credited to your new account, you would have to give the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) your bank details. It is simple and can be done easily through the EPFO member portal. Just ensure your new account is KYC compliant and Aadhaar linked so that it can be traced easily.

Log on to the EPFO portal Start by logging in to the EPFO Unified Member Portal with your Universal Account Number (UAN) and password. After you log in, select the "Manage" option and then click on the "KYC" option. This is where you enter or update your bank account. Enter your new bank IFSC code and account number with caution. Ensure that it shows up in your bank statements so that it won't be rejected when it gets authenticated.

Submit and wait for verification After entering the new account details, click on "Save." Your details will be displayed under the "Pending KYC" category. Now, your employer has to authenticate the new bank details from the employer EPFO portal. After your employer authenticates the details, EPFO will authenticate and activate the new bank details. This will happen within 7 to 10 working days, so continue to monitor the portal for updates.

Verify salary credit and PF adjustment Once your new bank account is opened by EPFO, all the future PF withdrawal, salary credit (if it is linked), and interest payment will be credited in the new account. It is preferable to verify the portal after one month to ensure that transactions are being credited appropriately. If there is any mistake, inform your employer or the EPFO office in your local region so that they can be rectified in time.
Things to remember Ensure that your Aadhaar number is seeded in your new bank account and UAN in order to expedite verification. You can use one active bank account for KYC, so ensure your old account is cancelled if you ever need to use it. If online doesn't work or you prefer paper submission, you can use Form 11A and get it submitted offline by your employer.

Ensure that transfers are facilitated at the click of a button Changing your salary credit bank at EPFO is no longer a paper-pushing and queue-waiting activity anymore. Updation of KYC online is trouble-free if you follow each step in the correct sequence and register your employer wherever required. Keep an eye out for portal updates, and Aadhaar and mobile number get linked to prevent salary or PF credit disruption.
