The Tata Harrier is all new, inside and out: Take a look
Like the Tata Safari unveiled alongside it, the Tata Harrier gets a comprehensive set of updates that span the exterior and interiors of the SUV. It gets a long list of new technologies as well
The eagerly anticipated 2023 Tata Harrier has finally arrived, and it brings with it a plethora of exciting updates. The Harrier has now been refreshed for the new age with an extensive overhaul of its exteriors and interiors. While the powertrain remains the same, the new Harrier promises to raise the bar even higher for SUV enthusiasts. Tata has given the 2023 Harrier a striking exterior makeover that aligns with the design philosophy seen in the Tata Nexon. The front end boasts slim LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) connected by a full-width LED light bar, creating a distinctive look on the road. Just below, a broader grille seamlessly integrates with the LED DRL lines, giving the vehicle a bold presence. The highlight, however, is the main headlamp cluster, which is housed in trapezoidal C-shaped enclosures. These headlamps have been pushed to the edges of the Harrier's front fascia, creating the optical illusion of a wider stance. In profile, the overall silhouette remains largely unchanged, but Tata has refreshed the new five-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels. Over to the rear, the design is sharp, with updated tail lamp internals and a connected LED light bar for that wide stance appeal. The refreshed bumper includes two protrusions on either side that match the main headlamp cluster placements on the front. The Tata Harrier offers buyers a choice of seven exterior paint options, namely: Sunlit Yellow, Coral Red, Pebble Grey, Lunar White, Oberon Black, Seaweed Green and Ash Grey. Step inside the new Harrier, and you'll be greeted by a completely revamped interior. The dashboard has undergone a significant transformation, featuring a free-standing 12.3-inch Harman touchscreen infotainment system, offering a sleek and futuristic appearance. Located just below is the touch-based HVAC control panel, adding a modern touch to the cabin's design. The driver's experience has also been enhanced with a new 10.25-inch customisable driver's display, complete with integrated navigation. The four-spoke steering wheel featuring a backlit Tata logo sits in the centre. The centre console has been updated as well, with the automatic variants now featuring a stubbier gear selector lever, adding to the overall driving experience. But the new Tata Harrier doesn't just focus on aesthetics; it's packed with a laundry list of cutting-edge features. The infotainment system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Audiophiles will appreciate the 10-speaker setup by JBL, complemented by audio modes tuned for JBL by Harman. Other comfort and convenience features include a voice-assisted panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, gesture-controlled powered tailgate, dual-zone automatic climate control, a six-way powered driver's seat with memory function, rear sunshades, wireless charging, and a 45-watt USB C charger located in the front console, which also includes a cooled front armrest storage area. Under the hood, the 2023 Tata Harrier retains its trusty Kryotec 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine. This powertrain generates a robust 170 horsepower and delivers 350 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options include both a six-speed manual and a six-speed torque converter automatic. It gets a terrain response system, offering modes like Normal, Rough and Wet to better adapt to various driving conditions and three driving modes, Eco, City and Sports, which allow drivers to tailor the SUV performance to their preference. Safety hasn’t taken a backseat either when it comes to the update. The SUV comes equipped with six airbags as standard across all trim levels, with an additional seventh airbag available in the higher trims. In case of emergencies or breakdowns, an emergency call/breakdown call button is at your disposal. Navigating tight spaces is made easier with the 360-degree surround view system. The Harrier also gets the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), which brings autonomous features such as adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, forward collision warning, rear collision warning, traffic sign recognition, high-beam assist, lane departure warning and blind spot detection. Tata Motors has introduced a new trim nomenclature with the launch of the Nexon and continued this approach with the Harrier. The Harrier is available in four main personas - Smart, Pure, Adventure, and Fearless. Additionally, Adventure and Fearless personas each have their own 'sub' personas, called Adventure+ and Fearless+, offering a total of six unique configurations.
