EXCON 2023: A look at the top auto candidates lined up for display this year

Ashok Leyland introduced the AL H6 Diesel – CEV Stage V engine and showcased various innovative products at EXCON 2023. Produced at cutting-edge facilities and meeting international quality benchmarks, Ashok Leyland's H6 Engines maintain their status as the preferred choice for numerous Original Equipment Manufacturers in track and wheel Harvester applications. This underscores the engines' enduring reliability and efficiency. Additionally, the H6 engines are well-known for their industry-leading Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).

The Cummins M15 diesel engine, free from emissions, incorporates an electronic fuel system crafted to improve fuel efficiency and operator drivability. With its low Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH) levels, this engine can be upgraded to meet more stringent emission standards. Supported by an advanced Extra High-Pressure (XPI) fuel system, a recently developed Electronic Control Module (ECM), and cutting-edge software, it is well-suited for various applications, including compressors exceeding 1300 cubic feet per minute (cfm), dump trucks, excavators weighing over 80 tons, and more.

Cummins is presenting its innovative Single Module ultra-high efficiency aftertreatment system, which stands out for being 70 percent smaller and 40 percent lighter compared to systems with similar architectures. This system boasts enhanced NOx conversion efficiency, eliminating over 99 percent of particulate matter (PM) by weight and count. Optimized with a freeze-robust UL2.2 dosing system that uses only liquid, it offers improved reliability. Manufactured in India, with more than 70 percent localised components, this product is versatile and adaptable to various applications, featuring catalyst diameters ranging from 5.66 inches (0.144 meters) to 13 inches (0.330 meters).

With over six decades of delivering reliable and efficient engines, Cummins will also showcase its B4.5 engine, ranging from 121 to 173 horsepower (90kW to 129kW), featuring best-in-class fluid efficiency.

Tata Motors made a significant stride in sustainable transportation with the commercial launch of its LNG-powered Tata Prima range of trucks and tippers, a pioneering achievement that includes the Tata Prima 5528.S LNG and India’s first LNG-powered tipper, the Tata Prima 3528.K LNG.

Mahindra's entire range of BSV construction equipment like RoadMaster and EarthMaster, as well as the extensive truck range like BLAZO X m-DURA 35 Tipper, BLAZO X 28 Transit Mixer, FURIO 10 Fuel Bowser with 6KL and Loadking OPTIMO Tipper were on display.

The JCB 3DX hydrogen machine was unveiled alongside the JCB hydrogen combustion engine. Developed in response to the urgent need to meet carbon emissions reduction targets, this industry-leading development is a key milestone on the path to decarbonising the construction sector in India.
