Nishriin Parikh (59) is a mother of two, a yoga and pilates instructor, a fitness model, an international physique athlete and a black belt in karate. Parikh clearly knows how to wear many hats without equal aplomb.

One look at her Instagram page and one is likely to feel inspired to work on getting a toned body like hers. She mentioned in one of her interviews that she got inspired by this line, “We get very limited time to live, and each moment counts, so why not make it the best?” Since then, Parikh has designed her life as per her own terms.

In one of her Instagram posts, she shares 6 rules to live by if you want a bikini body like hers.

Always sit and drink your water

Parikh says one should always sit and then have their water. Even Ayurveda says so. If one consumes water while standing, it may prove to be not good for one's digestive system.

Eat what is best for you

There are plenty of food choices available out there. Should that mean you don't exercise your discretion and eat what is good for you? Parikh says one should be mindful of the food choices one is making.

Take a look at her post:

Lift weights

Strength training has many benefits indeed. It keeps your bones and muscles in good health. Don't think you're late, but do introduce strength training to your routine to get a toned body.

No crash diets

There are so many crash diets available out there and they all come with tall claims. They may work out and help you reduce weight, but the real question is are they sustainable? Parikh urges never to try any of the crash diets and adopt sustainable practices only.

Have cheat days

Parikh says one should have cheat days, but be mindful of not prolonging cheat days into cheat months. Indulging in cheat meals for too long and in an undisciplined manner can reverse the hard work you have put in. So, avoid it.

Just get started

Parikh wrote, "Half of my life, I waited for the ‘right time’. I’ve learned there isn’t one. If you want something, start today. Take that leap of faith. Your world is waiting." Her message to people who want to confidently don on a bikini when they're in their 50s or 60s is to just get started and not fret over the lost time.
