An electric vehicle can have 5,000 battery cells and an EV could need 10 kg of lithium.

There is widespread speculation about India’s ability to transition to electric vehicles (EV) by 2030. As a result, there is one segment buzzing with excitement- lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries. Rising investments in Li-ion battery set ups, albeit largely assembly centres for now, signal a shift away from the traditional lead acid batteries in times to come. True, the shift may be gradual.  But it could challenge the long-standing duopoly of incumbent lead-acid battery makers Exide Industries Ltd and Amara Raja Batteries...
