Russian President Vladimir Putin was welcomed to Rashtrapati Bhavan on Friday with a purely vegetarian state banquet that showcased India’s regional culinary diversity.
Hosted by President Droupadi Murmu, the dinner followed the ceremonial reception and formed a key part of Putin’s two-day visit to India.
The meal that was specially set out for Putin started with Murungelai Chaaru, which is a clear, warming soup.
Next up was the first round of dishes that included Gucchi Doon Chetin, Kaale Chane ke Shikampuri, and Vegetable Jhol Momo with Chutney.
These dishes offered a quick tour of culinary traditions stretching from Kashmir to the Himalayan east.
Further, the main course was an exotic spread that was made with seasonal produce by the chefs in Rashtrapati Bhawan.
