YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, arrested for allegedly spying for Pakistan, was remanded to a 14-day judicial custody by a local court in Haryana's Hisar.

The court had extended the police remand of Malhotra by four days, after her initial five-day custody ended last Thursday. Malhotra is one of 12 people arrested earlier this month in a case linked to a suspected spy ring with alleged ties to Pakistan.

Malhotra runs a travel YouTube channel called “Travel with JO” and was arrested from the New Aggarsain Extension area in Hisar under espionage charges.

Hisar Police had received data from the mobile phone and laptop belonging to Jyoti. Jyoti Malhotra’s custody is ending today and she will be produced before the court later in the day.

During the last hearing of the case, Hisar police had sought custody of Jyoti, citing the delay in the forensic reports. The data from Jyoti’s phone has been recovered, and a detailed report has been submitted from the forensic department to Hisar Police.

In an official statement last week, Hisar Police said it had seized three mobile phones, one laptop and some other electronic devices from the accused. Additionally, police had also called Harkirat, a resident of Kurukshetra, for questioning.
