'You spent Rs 2.5 cr on me, I won't let it go to waste': What Radhika Yadav told her dad before he killed her

25-year-old Radhika Yadav, who was shot down by her father Deepak Yadav inside their Gurugram residence because he was enraged by the taunts of having to live off his daughter's money, had tried to counsel him and tell him that she would not let the money that he had invested in her go to waste.

"You have spent Rs 2.5 crore on me. I will not let that money go to waste. I will train young players using my talent and experience in tennis," Radhika has reportedly told her father when he had expressed his anger over her running a tennis academy and wanted to shut it down.

Deepak killed Radhika on Thursday by firing four bullets at her while she was preparing food for her mother in the kitchen. When the incident happened, Radhika's mother Manju Yadav was in another room on the same floor, resting, as she was sick.

Deepak Yadav was taken into one-day police custody on Friday and Radhika's last rites were also performed. Meanwhile, during interrogation, Deepak revealed that he had not been sleeping since 15 days after some people taunted him over "living off his daughter's money" and that he had been restless.

Manju revealed that her husband is "obsessive" in nature and that he had also once scolded her for speaking to her brother-in-law. She also said that he had been upset with Radhika and had expressed a desire to kill her. According to Manju, she and her husband Deepak, had been fighting over the topic for three days, following which, Deepak killed Radhika on Thursday.
