There is full hope that he will bring dignity not only as Vice President but also as the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha...All of us congratulate him..."

AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami extended his congratulations, linking the nomination to Radhakrishnan's long career of public service.

In a post on X he wrote, "Heartfelt congratulations to the Honorable Governor @CPRGuv, who has been selected as the Vice-Presidential candidate of the National Democratic Alliance. The last date for filing nominations is August 21.  The post of Vice President fell vacant after Jagdeep Dhankhar resigned on July 21, the first day of the Monsoon Session of Parliament, citing health reasons.
