Former Congress Assam chief Bhupen Kumar Borah, who resigned from the Congress early Monday morning, said that he is rethinking his decision of quitting the party and will take a call by the end of the day.
Bhupen Kumar was spotted addressing the media with Congress in-charge for Assam Bhanwar Jitendra Singh.
Singh said Bhupen Borah is an important member of the Congress family and that despite him sending the resignation to the party president, Mallikarjun Kharge had not accepted his resignation.

However, Borah clarified that he has not withdrawn his resignation yet and will take a call by the end of the day.
Borah, who served as APCC president from July 24, 2021, until 2024, was replaced by Gaurav Gogoi last year. A two-time MLA, he represented the Bihpuria constituency between 2006 and 2016 and was considered one of the prominent organisational faces of the party in the state.
His resignation also comes amid ongoing efforts by the Congress to build an opposition alliance in Assam. Borah had recently been tasked with leading discussions with regional parties, including the Raijor Dal led by Akhil Gogoi.
