Who is Nikhil Sosale, RCB's Marketing Head arrested in Bengaluru stampede case?

The Bengaluru Police, in con on Friday arrested Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB)'s Marketing Head Nikhil Sosale from Kempegowda International Airport in connection with the stampede occurred during the IPL victory celebration on Wednesday. The cops said he was trying to fly to Mumbai.

11 people died and around 50 were injured during the incident outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium. It occurred as fans gathered for a bus parade after RCB defeated Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the final on Tuesday.

Sosale is an employee Diageo India, which operates United Spirits Limited (USL), the owners of RCB and he has been the marketing and revenue head of the IPL team for the last two years now.

He reportedly manages the design and strategy behind the RCB brand and has also been the head of business partnerships at RCB. It is expected that the might have played a role in communication between the players and franchise officials.

Earlier, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday ordered the arrest of RCB representatives after a First Information Report (FIR) was registered. Additionally, three members of the event management company DNA Entertainment Private Limited, have been arrested.
