Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said peace, stability and security are very important for the growth of India. He further mentioned that his government has changed the situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Where the mind is without free and the head is held high was Tagore's dream, but earlier India saw a rise in fear and intolerance and the youth suffered the most. J&K has witnessed decades of youth destroyed in bombs, guns and stone pelting. But situation has changed
Modi: Our government's strong will has led to change in Jammu & Kashmir. And their youth is now linked to development,” said PM Modi during Rising Bharat Summit 2025.
He also mentioned the govt’s action against Naxalism. “Many of our country's youth are afflicted with Naxalism. 125 districts were affected by naxalites. But now the number has reduced to below 20. Our success is that 1000 of youth's future has been saved from extremism. We cannot burden the youth of 21st century with the burdens of the 20th century,” said PM Modi.
Earlier, PM Modi said that India's growth is being driven by its youth, their ambitions, aspirations and they have been the focus in the first 100 days of the government.
“I am happy that this year's summit's theme is linked to the aspirations of India's youth. I have seen the passion of making India Viksit among the youth of the nation. The roadmap of Viksit Bharat by 2047 will inspire and give direction to India's youth and give pace to the country,” PM Modi said.
PM Modi also reiterated that India will soon become the third largest economy in the world.
“The whole world is looking at India and the hope of the world is linked to India. We have become the fifth largest economy from 11th in very little time. Lot of global challenges came, but India didn't pause and we doubled the size of our economy in a decade. It is certain that India will become the world's third largest economy,” he said.
