A major fire broke out on Monday in a shop located on the first floor of a building in Sadar Bazar, one of the largest wholesale markets in Old Delhi.
Fire control officials said they dispatched 25 fire tenders to the spot, with thick smoke and blazing flames pouring out of the structure, instilling panic amongst the businessmen in the congested market area.

Firefighting operations are still underway, with no injuries reported as yet. The exact cause remains unclear.
The local police have cordoned off the area and are helping fire crews evacuate buildings in the vicinity as a precautionary step. Further investigations into the incident will take place.
