According to reports, Thackeray was not feeling well since the Dussehra rally held on October 12 where he gave a fiery speech attacking the ruling Mahauti government and the Centre.
"This morning, Uddhav Thackeray ji did a pre planned detailed check up at the Sir HN Reliance Hospital. With your best wishes, All is well, and he is fully ready to get to work and serve the people," Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and Uddhav's son Aaditya Thackeray posted on X.
In 2016, Thackeray was discharged from the Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai after an angiography test. According to News18, Thackeray underwent the procedure in a follow-up to the angioplasty which he had had on July 20, 2012, when doctors put in 8 stents to remove the constrictions for multiple blockages in three main arteries in his heart.
At the Thackeray criticised the ruling government, calling them responsible for the collapse of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's statue in Sindhudurg. Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's apology for the incident, Thackeray remarked, "Modi should understand that Shivaji Maharaj is not an Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) to win votes."
The RSS should think whether today's "hybrid BJP" is acceptable to it, Thackeray said. Targeting his former ally ahead of the assembly elections in Maharashtra, Thackeray said the BJP should be ashamed of calling itself "Bharatiya." He also compared it to the Kauravas, accusing it of showing arrogance.
