Russia on Sunday confirmed Ukrainian drone attack on its airfields and said that several of its military aircraft "caught fire".

Russia's Ministry of Defence, on Telegram, said that Ukraine carried out what it said was a "terrorist attack" in the regions of Murmansk, Irkutsk, Ivanovo, Ryazan and Amur.

"In the regions of Murmansk and Irkutsk, several aircraft caught fire following the launch of FPV drones from a territory located in the immediate vicinity of the airfields," the Russian defence ministry said on Telegram. Read more

Tata Group-owned Air India is reportedly in discussions with aircraft manufacturers Airbus and Boeing for a significant new order of around 200 additional single-aisle jets. According to industry sources, the move aims to address a potential future shortage of aircraft and would build on the airline’s massive 2023 deal. Belgavi Police Commissioner Bhushan Borse reported that an FIR has been registered under the POCSO Act at the APMC Police Station. The victim and the accused are originally from Belagavi. The victim is a minor. The case has been registered against six accused persons. The main accused befriended the girl, lured her, and then raped her along with his friends. The accused recorded the act and blackmailed her, leading to further gang rape by three other accused. Five accused persons have already been arrested, and a search operation is underway to apprehend the sixth accused. Two of the arrested accused are minors. The main accused, A1 and A2, committed the crime, and the rapes occurred at different locations

Patanjali Ayurved Limited has refuted reports suggesting that the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has initiated a probe against the company. In a boost for the aviation and hospitality sectors, jet fuel (ATF) prices were cut by 2.82% on Sunday — the third monthly reduction in a row - as global oil prices continue to decline. In Delhi, ATF now costs ₹83,072.55 per kilolitre, down by ₹2,414.25 reports PTI.

Commercial LPG cylinders also saw a ₹24 reduction, with prices now at ₹1,723.50 in Delhi and ₹1,647.50 in Mumbai. This follows earlier cuts of ₹14.50 in May and ₹41 in April, offering relief to hotels and restaurants.

All seven Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MLAs in Nagaland have joined the ruling Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP), boosting the NDPP’s strength from 25 to 32 seats in the 60-member assembly, reports ANI. The move gives Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio's party an absolute majority. The NCP had emerged as the third-largest party in the 2023 state elections, behind the NDPP and its ally BJP, which holds 12 seats.

An onion growers' association in Maharashtra has urged the state government to provide compensation of ₹1 lakh per acre to farmers who lost their crops due to heavy rainfall in May, according to a PTI report.

In a letter addressed to state authorities, the association highlighted that key onion-producing districts - including Jalgaon, Dhule, Nashik, Ahilyanagar, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Pune, Solapur, Beed, Dharashiv, Sangli, Buldhana, Akola, Parbhani, and Jalna - were severely affected by unseasonal rains starting May 6.

The letter, signed by association president Bharat Dighole and Nashik district chief Jaydeep Bhadane, stated that many farmers suffered complete losses of their Rabi-season onion crop, which was destroyed before harvesting. The group has called for immediate relief to support the affected farmers.

At least 25 people have lost their lives across Northeast India due to continuous monsoon rains that triggered flash floods and landslides, according to media reports. In the past 24 hours alone, eight deaths were reported in Mizoram, Tripura, and Meghalaya.
