Hours after chairing a cabinet meeting in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah commenting on the ongoing search operations for the five terrorists who gunned down 26 tourists on April 22, said the terrain has made it difficult for the security forces to trace the five terrorists.
Responding to a question on why terrorists succeed in getting away after launching targeted strikes on civilians and military personnel, Abdullah said tracing these people are not very easy due to the extreme terrain in the region. However, the J&K chief minister reiterated that the forces and his administration will leave no stone unturned in bringing the terrorists to justice.
The cabinet meeting, earlier today, was the first time a cabinet meeting was held outside the twin cities of Jammu and Srinagar. The meeting was also symbolic as it attempt to send the message of a return to normalcy and how government apparatus at the highest level remain committed to restore normalcy in the state.
