The Sonam-Raja Raghuvanshi case has been growing more complicated each day, with the husband dead and no trace of the wife, still. Now, a tourist guide has offered fresh clue to aid the mystery surrounding the Indore couple.
The guide, named Albert Pde has claimed that Sonam and Raja were not alone on the last day that they had been seen and were accompanied by three other men. "The four men were walking ahead while the woman was behind. The four men were conversing in Hindi, but I could not understand what they were speaking as I know only Khasi and English," Pde said.
He also confirmed to the local police that on May 22, he had offered to take the couple to Nongriat but they had instead hired another guide named Bha Wansai.
Earlier, Sonam's last voice message to her mother-in-law had surfaced, further deepening the mystery around what actually happened to the couple. Raja's body was found in the hills of Meghalaya and after that, a weapon, that is believed to have been used to kill Raja was also recovered. The police has also recovered their rented scooter, which had been abandoned with the keys still intact, and a raincoat.
While Raja's body has been cremated by the family, the search for Sonam is still on. Sonam's brother Govid has accused local authorities to not put in enough efforts to find his sister and for searching for her like she's dead. "We strongly believe that Sonam is alive," Govind said.
Meanwhile, the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has appealed to Home Minister Amit Shah to order a CBI probe into the matter. He also said that the Madhya Pradesh Police is constantly in touch with the Meghalaya Police and is following up and coordinating in the search process that has been going on for Sonam Raghuvanshi.
