Terrorists gun down 45-year-old social activist in J&K's Kupwara

According to the authorities, Magray was targeted inside his residence, where the terrorists opened fire.

The terrorists fired at Ghulam Rasool Magray inside his residence at Kandi Khas late on Saturday.

A 45-year-old social activist, Ghulam Rasool Magray, was shot dead by suspected terrorists in the Kandi Khas area of Kupwara district late on Saturday night, officials confirmed on Sunday.

According to the authorities, Magray was targeted inside his residence, where the terrorists opened fire. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, but was declared dead upon arrival.

The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and officials are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

It is not yet known why the terrorists chose to target the social activist.

Meanwhile, early Sunday morning, Pakistani troops once again violated the ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC).

According to official sources, Pakistani forces opened unprovoked small arms fire targeting Indian positions on the intervening night of April 26 and 27. The firing took place opposite the Tutmari Gali and Rampur sectors.
