After MK Stalin referred to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi as “Rajiv Gandhi” during INDIA bloc’s Adhikar Yatra” in Bihar, BJP’s K Annamalai attacked the chief minister and his “patchwork government" on X.
"Going all the way to Bihar and getting the name wrong... despite reading it from a piece of paper... is one thing. But the desperate attempt to patch it up is even more telling," the former Tamil Nadu BJP chief posted on X.
Thiru @mkstalin’s government in TN thrives on patchwork and deception.Going all the way to Bihar and getting the name wrong despite reading it from a piece of paper is one thing, but the desperate attempt to patch it up is even more telling. pic.twitter.com/IicVupwQkk — K.Annamalai (@annamalai_k) August 27, 2025
The Tamil Nadu CM began his speech by acknowledging Rahul Gandhi as one of the organisers of the 'Voter Adhikar' rally.
According to NDTV, the DMK dismissed the attacks as "petty politics".
Ahead of the CM's visit to poll-bpund Bihar, Annamalai released what he claimed was a compilation of "uncouth remarks" made by leaders of the DMK and its alliance parties about the people of Bihar and North Indians.
He challenged Stalin to repeat the comments while sharing stage with Rahul Gandhi in the northern state.
Among the video clips were certain remarks purportedly made by Stalin, his cabinet colleagues TRB Rajaa and KN Nehru, senior DMK leaders K Ponmudy and RS Bharathi, besides Thol Thirumavalavan MP, leader of VCK, an ally of the DMK.
"TN CM Thiru @mkstalin avl is in Bihar today. Here is an evergreen compilation of his, his party members', and his alliance partners' uncouth remarks about our Bihari brothers and sisters," Annamalai said in a social media post.
