Reliance launches ten-point relief plan for flood-hit Punjab

Reliance Industries has announced a comprehensive ten-point humanitarian initiative to assist communities affected by recent floods in Punjab.

The relief effort, spanning nutrition, shelter, public health, and livestock support, aims to reach over 10,000 families in severely affected areas, particularly Amritsar and Sultanpur Lodhi.

“Our heart goes out to the people of Punjab in this hour of suffering. Families have lost homes, livelihoods, and a sense of security. The entire Reliance family is standing with them- providing food, water, shelter kits, and care for both people and animals. This ten-point plan reflects our deep belief that We Care. We are committed to walk alongside Punjab through this difficult time,” said Anant Ambani, Director, Reliance Industries Limited.

The relief initiative includes dry ration kits and Rs 5,000 voucher-based assistance for vulnerable households, including single-women and elderly-led families.

Community kitchens will receive dry ration support, and portable water filters are being deployed in waterlogged areas to ensure clean drinking water. Emergency shelter kits with tarpaulins, bedding, mosquito nets, and ropes will provide displaced families with temporary protection.

To address public health risks, Reliance is conducting health awareness drives, disinfecting water sources, and distributing hygiene kits to prevent post-flood disease outbreaks.

Additionally, Reliance Foundation and Vantara, in coordination with the Animal Husbandry Department, are setting up veterinary camps, distributing 3,000 silage bundles for nearly 5,000 cattle, and treating rescued animals.

Meanwhile, Jio’s Punjab team has restored network connectivity in coordination with NDRF teams, ensuring uninterrupted communication across flood-affected areas.
