Red Fort car blast likely a 'Fidayeen' suicide attack, indicates Delhi police probe

According to sources cited by ANI, the suspect might have carried out the attack after learning that the Faridabad terror module, with which he was allegedly associated, had been busted.

Delhi Police’s preliminary investigation into the car explosion near the Red Fort Metro Station indicates that the incident could have been a “Fidayeen” or suicide attack.

According to sources cited by ANI, the suspect might have carried out the attack after learning that the Faridabad terror module, with which he was allegedly associated, had been busted.

“All relevant agencies are examining all angles to ascertain the motive behind the blast,” a source added.

The blast on Monday evening killed nine people and injured 20. A high-alert security response across the national capital.
