Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Diya Kumari presented the budget for the financial year 2025-26 in the state assembly on Wednesday.
She emphasised the state's rapid development under the current BJP government.
The budget mostly focussed on employment generation, infrastructure development, and water supply projects.
During the budget presentation, the finance minister announced the construction of nine Greenfield expressways and the recruitment of 1.25 lakh personnel in government departments and state undertakings.
"Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, our government has justified the public's trust by setting new records in the first year of its tenure," she said, further highlighting the state’s economic growth.
Kumari said that Rajasthan’s GDP is projected to exceed Rs 19.89 lakh crore in 2025-26.
The Finance Minister reiterated the government's goal of making Rajasthan a Rs 350 billion economy by 2030. "We have increased capital expenditure by more than 40% in a short period, constructed over 9,600 km of new roads, and upgraded more than 13,000 km of roads," she said.
The government has allocated Rs 60,000 crore for the construction of nine Greenfield expressways, while Rs 400 crore has been earmarked to provide drinking water connections to two lakh new houses across the state.
Kumari said that 58% of election pledges and 73% of previous budget announcements have already been implemented by the government.
The budget session of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly began on January 31 with an address by Governor Haribhau Bagde.
