Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on September 7 celebrated a significant achievement, announcing that his government has created 44,974 new government jobs in just 30 months. Speaking at a ceremony where 293 appointment letters were handed out, Mann highlighted this milestone as a transformative moment for the youth of Punjab.

He emphasized that the rapid filling up of vacancies and a meticulous recruitment process have ensured that not a single appointment among the 44,000+ has faced legal challenges. This reflects the state’s commitment to merit-based hiring and youth welfare.

Mann also noted that this initiative is part of a broader strategy to rejuvenate Punjab by reversing migration trends. He praised the growing involvement of youth in the state’s socio-economic progress, citing increased educational enrollments as evidence of this shift.

The Chief Minister outlined his administration’s ongoing efforts to make the youth job creators rather than job seekers. He also highlighted the expansion of Aam Aadmi Clinics, which have treated over 2 crore people, and the closure of 19 toll plazas, saving Rs 63 lakh daily for residents.

In terms of education, Mann announced plans to upgrade 118 government schools to "Schools of Eminence," equipped with modern facilities. He also shared that Punjab held its first Mega Parent-Teacher Meeting, involving 20 lakh parents, to further support student development.

The new recruits expressed their gratitude, sharing personal stories of joy and relief. Shivani Sharma from Ludhiana celebrated the job opportunity alongside her brother’s new position, while Gurdeep Kaur from Kharar appreciated the fair recruitment process. Gurlal Singh from Taran Taran was pleasantly surprised by his appointment without recommendations, and Hardeep Singh from Sri Muktsar Sahib praised the government’s efforts, noting his changed outlook on staying in Punjab rather than seeking opportunities abroad.
