Punjabi actress Tania's father shot at in Moga clinic, she appeals for privacy: 'Be sensitive, give space'

Punjabi actor Tania's stepfather, Dr Aniljit Kamboj, was shot at by two men in Punjab's Moga district on Friday afternoon, reports have said. The two men came to her father's clinic posing as patients in Kot Ise Khan and shot him. He is said to be in a stable condition for now.

Reportedly, the two men also let Dr Kamboj examine them before firing at least two shots at him. "He remains hospitalised and doctors attending to him termed his condition as stable. We are working to ascertain the cause behind the crime," police said.

Meanwhile, Tania's team also issued a statement, appealing for space and privacy. "On behalf of Tania and family, we want to share that this is an extremely critical and emotional time for her and her family. We kindly request the media to respect their privacy and give them the space they need to process this. We urge everyone to be sensitive and refrain from speculation or creating stories around the situation. Thank you for your understanding and support," the statement read.

Police also said that the men, after the attack, fled the spot on a motorcycle. The men had been spotted hovering around the clinic before the attack, an investigation into the matter has revealed.

"We're investigating all possible angles, including extortion threats," the police was further quoted as saying.
