• Inderjit Singh: Chinese components is a red herring. We do not have the capability to produce everything indigenously today. Yes we do have to look outwards.

• Mishra, DRDO: In every vertical, if there are 3,000 companies, it becomes tough for the buyer to support. Why don't you group them?
• Today there are 400 drone companies. I am telling you that not more than 20 will survive!
• Padhi, IG Drones: The private sector is suspected in India. Why don't you sign long term agreements? If I do any violation, you can ban me

• Mishra: We are very happy that Indian systems, not only Akash and Brahmos, electronic technologies and others have all been used either in the fore ground or background.
  That has given huge confidence to the Armed Forces
• Padhi, IG Drones: We need a lot of variety of sensors, we need to strengthen that ecosystem so that we can develop them here.
• Inderjit Singh: In each of the niche technologies we need to identify champions, and give them contracts
• Singh: IF the government of India has the kind of support and confidence in us, we will deliver!
• Mishra, DRDO: When you invest in defence technologies, do not invest a return in 2-3 years.
• Mishra, DRDO: You need to work on R&D for a decade at least.

• Maj Gen Ramesh Chandra Padhi (retd), Sr VP, IG Drones: Four of my guys were trapped in Poonch where they were delivering drones
• Padhi: We have used drones during Kargil War
• Mishra, DRDO: BrahMos is a very potent universal weapon. It goes with brute force, impossible for anyone to stop it.
• Mishra: We conducted more than 130 tests, in every test parameters were improved.
• We always believed that we should not always go to L1 (if you are going for the lowest, quality can be compromised), we go for the T1

• Smit Shah: All of this was done with the aim of developing intellectual property (IP) in India
• Smit Shah: All of this vision was spearheaded by PM Modi
• Smit Shah: As of now procurements are slightly slower. The nature of the process demands for more than one company to participate. User and industry need to sit together and create a roadmap.
• Shah: Irrespective of what platform you are building, it has to be electronic warfare hardened. For that you need to develop a lot of ancillary technologies -- such as GPS jamming proof, RF communication jamming proof and so on.
• Shah: We need to fast track procurement
• Inderjit Singh, ideaForge: We have to change our procurement procedures. Drones are a low cost options which provide huge returns
• We need to develop counter UAS technologies. We have a lot of work to do in both these areas

• Singh: In terms of mini operation, our company has done extremely good.
• Smit Shah, president, Drone Federation of India: In 2021, India understood the economic importance of drones, started opening up the ecosystem.
• Smit Shah: We came up with the drone policy in 2021, but even though it was for the civilian space, it encouraged more and more companies to come up with drone companies

• Lt Gen (dr) Inderjit Singh, Strategic Advisor, ideaForge Technology: India has been alive to drones for more than a decade or so.
• Singh: We are the biggest company today in ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) technologies
• Singh: The Ministry of Defence is upping the ante in terms of getting these technologies

• Mishra: When I joined in 2013, I developed various version -- ship to ship, land-based, air-based. The main thing was to integrate with the Sukhoi aircraft. That took a couple of years, and it was critical
• Mishra: We created the world's largest launcher in-house in DRDO.
• Mishra: When other countries compared our systems to others -- they have inducted our system, which means it is the best.
• Mishra: DRDO has conducted, two-three weeks back for a hypersonic engine. Soon we will come out with a hyper sonic missile whose speed will be 5 mach

As a government, we need to take an entrepreneurial position on tourism, because it has the potential to become an engine for economic growth. It has the highest potential to create jobs in the country. Today it supports 78 million jobs. Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil announced on May 16 said the government's tap water scheme under the Jal Jeevan Mission will be completed by 2028. "Nal se Jal Yojana (tap water scheme) is a priority for the Modi government for our Viksit Bharat at 2047 target. Tap water connections have been given to 15 crore households under the scheme so far. Installation of taps in 4 crore households is under progress. By 2028, we intend to complete this mission," Patil said. (Read More)

• Tyagi: For websites under .in domains e-KYC is now mandatory
• Tyagi: We are in talks with MSME and tourism ministry for new domains (.in).
• These domains with be managed by agency and security will be ensured.

• NIXI CEO Devesh Tyagi: We ensure internet stays local. We had started with four exchange points, right now there are 77 exchange points which are located in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
• Tyagi: We also managing the .in domain, today we have 42 lakh .in domains in the country .
• Tyagi: If we want to make .in domain more secure, we need to make our own policies. We amended the RAA, it is still under implemented. It was amended to make it more secure.

Paswan on differential GST rates on food products: I want to be a bridge between government and industry, I want to figure out a middle way. GST Council is the final authority on GST, but from time to time I have placed changes required in GST and I would like to take mutually beneficial GST rate on food products. And talks are on for many products.

• Paswan: FSSAI monitors food products, and we are trying to level up to global standards. So, we are making regulations stricter so that companies don't misadvertise
• Paswan: Companies can't take a short cut and grow in India. We are looking at strict norms and penalties for firms that violate safety standards of food products

• Paswan: India and US and other countries are now debating on tariffs. And I think this is a sensitive topic and this has to be debated sensitively
• Paswan: India has the capability that we don't need to look at other nations for resources
• Paswan: I want India to become a global food basket because we can cater to the food needs of other countries as well and not just our own domestic need

• Paswan: So the idea is to uplift the caste and assimilate them to the mainstream. So, the caste census will give us the data required to uplift those who are discriminated on caste
• Paswan: Caste census will help in fair representation in every sector

• Paswan: We have become divided into so many caste groups. I don't understand this system. The lack of unity due to caste is what is stopping progress
• Paswan: We need a Bihari first identity in Bihar
• Paswan: Many political parties are responsible for dividing people on caste
• Paswan: I support the caste census because our society is still divided on caste and that leads to an environment of discrimination in society. Even today a dalit is not allowed to ride a horse because of their caste

• Paswan: UP is now being identified as one of the Viksit states. And that is why a double engine sarkar is key and UP is an example. And now even Bihar can now benefit from that
• Paswan: The coming five years will be a golden period of Bihar
• Paswan: Is caste an issue in the upcoming elections in Bihar, sadly, yes. But I am against caste-based politics

• Paswan: Rahul Gandhi in Bihar was waving a photograph of Ambedkar in Bihar yesterday. But until 1989 there was no picture of Ambedkar in Parliament. And it was my father who helped feature Ambedkar's picture there
• Paswan: I will go back to Bihar but not out of greed for any post but to further the Bihari first policy
• Paswan: Bihar has a proud history. However, despite the past success, Bihar now is counted as one of the backward states. Even today a successful family in Bihar sends their kids to another state
• Paswan: CM Nitish Kumar has to be credited for improving Bihar's state of affairs but a lot more needs to be done and I want to go back to Bihar to further improve the state

• Paswan: There's a very soft generational shift in my state and that is the beauty of democracy as you have young leaders and fresh ideas. I feel people of Bihar are very lucky that they can choose among them for the next CM
• Paswan: I would always want my father to get Bharat Ratna, and my party has placed the same request. There are legitimate reasons for this ask because of his contributions over the years especially in social justice

• Minister of Food Processing Industries Chirag Paswan: I said I want to return to Bihar and Bihar is calling me, and my heart is in Delhi, that was interpreted in several ways, but my reason of saying this was because I came to politics for Bihar
• Paswan: I wanted to see ways that the migration from Bihar to other states can reduce. But if I want to work for Bihar therefore I want to work in Bihar. So now I want reverse migration to Bihar
• Paswan: My thinking is Bihar first, Bihari first
• Paswan: I don't have any wish to become CM of Bihar
• Paswan on wanting to become Bihar CM: My stomach is full, I have no greed
• Paswan: I could have become CM in Bihar in 2020 if I stayed in alliance. I prioritise policies over personal aspirations
