Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Indian Air Force’s Adampur airbase in early morning hours on Tuesday. He interacted with the IAF personnel and was briefed on the latest on Operation Sindoor. PM Modi took to X to share photos of the visit.

“It was a very special experience to be with those who epitomise courage, determination and fearlessness,” the Prime Minister said in his message hailing the air force. He said that nation is ‘eternally grateful’ to the armed forces for their selfless sacrifices.

Adampur, India’s second largest airbase, was among key military establishments that Pakistan tried to attack on May 9 and May 10 following India’s strikes as part of Operation Sindoor. Islamabad had claimed that its JF-17 combat aircraft had struck the S-400 air defence system located in Adampur. The charge was rebutted by the Indian armed forces during several briefings.

The Prime Minister’s visit to the Air Force station comes a day after he lauded the country’s “formidable” armed forces for the successful execution of “Operation Sindoor,” launched on May 7 in response to last month’s deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.
