Waqf amendment bill unconstitutional: Cong MP Hussain

Congress leader Syed Naseer Hussain on Thursday said the Waqf (Amendment) Bill was against the Muslim community and accused the BJP of using it to stoke communal tensions in society.

Initiating the discussion on the bill in the Rajya Sabha, he said the ruling party is trying to mislead the country over the bill.

Indian defence firm inks MoU with Israeli company to bring advanced drone camera tech to country

An Indian defence firm has signed an MoU with an Israeli company to bring advanced drone camera technology to the country, officials said on Thursday.

The pact has been inked between Paras Defence and Space Technologies and MicroCon Vision of Israel, part of Controp and the Rafael Group, an official statement said.

The collaboration will position Paras Defence as the exclusive supplier of advanced drone camera technology in India at "much lower cost", it said.

Indian Air Force took to X and posted, "An IAF Jaguar two-seater aircraft airborne from Jamnagar Airfield crashed during a night mission. The pilots faced a technical malfunction and initiated ejection, avoiding harm to airfield and local population. Unfortunately, one pilot succumbed to his injuries, while the other is receiving medical treatment at a hospital in Jamnagar. IAF deeply regrets the loss of life and stands firmly with the bereaved family. A Court of Inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the cause of the accident."
