PM Modi rips into Pakistan in first J&K visit since Pahalgam attack: 'Whenever Islamabad thinks of Operation Sindoor...'

Pahalgam incident was attack on 'insaniyat and Kashmiriyat'. It aimed at triggering riots in India. That is why it targeted the tourists, says PM Modi.

In his first visit to Jammu and Kashmir since the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, which left 26 people dead, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said the terror attack showed what Pakistan stands for.

"Pakistan wanted to spark riots across India. Pakistan killed innocent people in Pahalgam to attack tourism in J&K," said the PM while addressing a public rally. He said the Pahalgam incident was attack on "insaniyat and Kashmiriyat".

PM Modi recalled May 6 night when India dealt a doomsday blow to terrorists, Accoridng to PM Modi, whenever Pakistan thinks of Operation Sindoor, they will be reminded of destruction.

He  inaugurated the world’s highest railway bridge – Chenab Bridge – in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi on Friday and also flagged off two pairs of Vande Bharat Express trains in a major infrastructure push in the region.

The trains will run on the Srinagar–Katra–Srinagar route with intermediate stops at Banihal, according to the officials.

"Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla rail line project is not just a name, it is the identity of the new power of Jammu & Kashmir. It is a proclamation of the new power of India. A while ago, I got the opportunity to inaugurate the Chenab and Anji Bridges. Today, J&K got two new Vande Bharat trains.... Projects worth Rs 46 thousand crores will speed up the development of Jammu and Kashmir..." said PM Modi.

The Prime Minister lalso lauded the people of Jammu and Kashmir for standing up against Pakistan’s conspiracy and sending across a strong message of unity to Pakistan and to the world.
