Prime Minister Narendra Modi today hailed President Droupadi Murmu's address to both Houses of Parliament and said that it beautifully summed up India's collective achievements in the last decade. His appreciation comes amid the row over veteran Congress leader Sonia Gandhi's 'Poor thing ...' remark at the President.
"The Honourable President’s speech also beautifully summed up the collective achievements of our nation in the last decade and covered our future aspirations. The address covered economic reforms, infrastructural development, advances in healthcare, education, renewable energy, rural growth, entrepreneurship, space and more," PM Modi said.

The PM said that President Murmu's address to both Houses of Parliament was a resonant outline of the country's path toward building a Viksit Bharat. "She highlighted initiatives across sectors and underscored the importance of all-around as well as futuristic development," he posted on X, formerly Twitter.
Praising the President, PM Modi said that her address encapsulated the vision for an India where youth have the best opportunities to flourish. "The address also included inspiring roadmaps for achieving the goals we have set with a spirit of unity and determination," he added.
Soon after Murmu's address to the joint sitting of Parliament, Sonia Gandhi said, "The President was getting very tired by the end. She could hardly speak, poor thing."
