Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday slammed Congress over remarks of Solapur MP Praniti Shinde.

"She was made to say that Operation Sindoor was a 'tamasha'. This is like putting acid (on the wounds) of the 26 people killed by terrorists," Modi said this in Lok Sabha during a debate on Operation Sindoor.

The Congress MP made the now expunged remark on Monday in the Lower House of the Parliament. She called the Operation Sindoor a "tamasha" by the government, claiming it was more of a media show than a real success.

She questioned what was actually achieved during Operation Sindoor and demanded that the government take responsibility.

"Operation Sindoor was nothing but a 'tamasha' of the government in the media. No one is telling us what was achieved in this Operation. How many terrorists were caught? How many fighter jets did we lose? Who is responsible and whose mistake is this? This should be answered by the government," said Shinde.
