The police, backed by Bihar's Special Task Force (STF) and Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), surrounded the suspects, leading to their eventual surrender.
According to News9Live, the incident began around 2 pm when the armed criminals fired four rounds outside a house before taking refuge in a nearby residence. Initially, police apprehended two of the suspects, while the remaining two surrendered after security forces intensified their operation.
Officials confirmed that forces from multiple police stations were deployed, and a combing operation was launched to track down any accomplices who may have escaped. Despite the firing, no injuries or casualties were reported, and police did not return fire.
Videos of the encounter have surfaced on social media, showing a heavy police presence in the area. Patna SSP stated that the motive behind the shooting was linked to a property dispute.
Reacting to the incident, RJD leader and former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav criticized the state government, saying that such violent incidents have become a routine occurrence on Bihar’s streets.
