Passenger dies mid-air on Delhi-Lucknow Air India flight

The exact cause of death will be ascertained after the postmortem report is released.

A passenger was found dead on an Air India flight (AI2845) after the plane landed in Lucknow from Delhi on Friday. He reportedly passed away mid-air.

The deceased passenger has been identified as Asifullah Ansari, India Today reported.

After the flight landed at Lucknow's Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport at around 8 am, the crew members tried to revive the passenger but did not get any response.

Doctors present on the flight examined the passenger and declared him dead, according to a report by India Today.

The exact cause of death will be ascertained after the postmortem report is released.

However, in a statement, a spokesperson of Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport, Lucknow, said, "A male passenger, who was unwell, arrived from Delhi at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport, Lucknow, today. He was provided first aid before being transported to the hospital in an Advanced Life Support ambulance. The passenger later passed away at a hospital."
