A group of protesters stormed a book stall at the Amar Ekushey Book Fair in Dhaka over the display of books by exiled Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasrin, prompting Bangladesh's Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus to order an investigation into the incident, according to local media reports.

The protest occurred on Monday at the Sabyasachi Prokashoni stall in Suhrawardy Udyan, where demonstrators under the banner of “Towhidi Janata” disrupted the fair, chanting slogans against the publishing house for showcasing Nasrin’s books, Bdnews24 reported.

The situation escalated as the protesters surrounded the publisher, Shatabdi Vobo, forcing law enforcement officials to intervene. Police later took Vobo to their control room to ensure his safety and restore order at the venue.

Following the disruption, Chief Adviser Yunus directed authorities to launch a probe into the "disorderly behavior" and take necessary action to maintain peace at the fair.

Delhi Weather News Live: Delhi records min temperature of 11.6 degrees celsius, air quality remains 'poor'
