The Central Government has launched the National Cyclone Risk Mitigation Project in two phases. Phase I focused on Andhra Pradesh and Odisha, while Phase II expanded the project to six states: Goa, Gujarat, Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and West Bengal. The project includes four key components: Early Warning Dissemination System (EWDS), Cyclone Risk Mitigation Infrastructure (CRMI), Technical Assistance and Capacity Building Training, and Implementation Support. Kerala has developed its own EWDS project, KAWACHAM, with a financial release of Rs. 65.38 crore for its implementation under Phase II, as stated by MoS Home Nityanand Rai.

On the controversy over YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia's remarks on a show, BJD MP Sasmit Patra says, "It is extremely unfortunate and as a member of the Parliamentary standing committee on Communication and IT, which also has broadcasting as part of it. I am going to take up this matter in the committee since we are going to meet shorty for demand for grants. I want there to be stricter guidelines and stricter measures for such disparaging remarks that are used so loosely, especially when such young impressionable minds follow such YouTubers..."
