Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Kalyan Banerjee on Monday said that his party will give notice in the Parliament regarding the role and function of the Election Commission. Speaking to ANI, Kalyan Banerjee said, "We are going to give 193 notice regarding the role and function of the Election Commission... 3 voters have the same EPIC number, which is not permissible as per the law. We are raising this issue strongly. We will raise it in Parliament..."

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge urged the Centre to allow a comprehensive discussion on the allegations of electoral irregularities and cited the duplication of EPIC numbers in West Bengal and the alleged surge in voter numbers ahead of the Maharashtra assembly election.

On delimitation issue, Congress MP Hibi Eden says, "Every regional party, every member of Parliament and people from the Southern states are concerned about the delimitation factor. We hope that there will be proper discussions and proper guidelines on the matter so that there is no injustice done to any state..."

DMK MP Kanimozhi says "I am very pained and hurt that the minister (Dharmendra Pradhan) has called the members of Parliament and the people of Tamil Nadu uncivilised...In our meeting, we had clearly said that we have issues with the NEP and we cannot accept it in full. The three-language policy is not acceptable to the people of Tamil Nadu. The CM of Tamil Nadu has written to the Prime Minister and the Education Minister saying that we have issues with the NEP and it cannot be accepted in total..."

Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, raised the issue of voter list in the House and demanded a discussion over the issue.

“Questions are being raised about the voter list across the country, including in Maharashtra. The entire opposition is demanding a discussion on the voter list,” the Congress MP said in Lok Sabha.

On delimitation issue, DMK MP Tiruchi Siva says, "We have a very genuine concern about the delimitation exercise that is due to be done in 2026...the birth control process has not been equal (in north and south)...If it is done based on population, Tamil Nadu and other states will be losing so many seats...we will come down from 39 to 31, Kerala from 20 to 12...some states will get 30-40 more seats, so there won't be fair representation in the Parliament..."

Lok Sabha has been adjourned till 12 pm amid sloganeering by the Opposition.

On the New Education Policy and three language row, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan says, "...They (DMK) are dishonest. They are not committed to the students of Tamil Nadu. They are ruining the future of Tamil Nadu students. Their only job is to raise language barriers. They are doing politics. They are doing mischief. They are undemocratic and uncivilised..."

BJP MP Biplab Deb praised Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today for presenting a "visionary budget" under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Deb also addressed the situation in Manipur, where President's rule is in effect, saying, "In Manipur, President's rule is underway, so naturally, the central government will present the budget for the state. The government has taken it seriously."

Congress MP K Suresh says, " Today in Parliament, during the second part of the budget session...we are going to raise many important issues in Parliament. Especially delimitation issue, which has affected southern states. Tamil Nadu already reacted, and other states have also expressed their views. Govt of India is going to start delimitation without any discussion with stakeholders..."

Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP) MP NK Premachandran, today, accused the Centre of obstructing constructive discussions in Parliament, stating that the opposition has always supported the smooth functioning of the House.

“The government does not want the House to function properly, which is why meaningful debates are not happening. We all know why the US President increased tariffs—this issue needs to be discussed,” Premachandran said.

He also criticised the proposed Waqf Bill, saying the opposition would strongly oppose it if introduced.

“We are ready to cooperate with the government, but all these critical issues must be addressed,” he added.

Ahead of the second part of the Budget Session, Congress MP K Suresh, this morning, said that the opposition will raise several key issues in Parliament, with a special focus on the delimitation process, which he claimed has adversely impacted southern states.

Speaking to reporters, Suresh said, “The Government of India is moving forward with delimitation without consulting stakeholders. Tamil Nadu has already reacted, and other states have also expressed their concerns.”

The Congress leader accused the Centre of bypassing discussions on a crucial issue that could alter political representation.

The delimitation exercise has sparked concerns among southern states over potential shifts in parliamentary seat allocations.
