RJD leader and former Bihar minister Tej Pratap Yadav’s post-Holi bike ride led him directly to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s residence. Upon his arrival outside the house, Yadav loudly called out, "Where is Paltu Chacha?" reported India Today.
The term ‘Paltu,’ a colloquial Hindi expression for someone who frequently changes sides, has been used by the opposition to mock Nitish Kumar since he severed ties with the RJD and Congress to rejoin the BJP and form a government.
A video shows Tej Pratap, accompanied by another man soaked in colors, riding a scooter toward the Chief Minister’s residence. As they reach the gate, Yadav can be heard repeatedly asking, "Paltu chacha kahan? Paltu chacha... (Where is flip-flop uncle?)" The video also shows supporters following him on other two-wheelers and raising slogans as the ride continues.
Another video has surfaced, showing Tej Pratap, the elder son of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, instructing a police officer to dance to his song or face suspension. This clip, which has sparked controversy, shows the officer complying with the RJD leader’s request amid a crowd of party workers.
Addressing a police personnel present at the party's Holi celebrations, Tej Pratap as quoted in the report said, "Ay sipahi, ek gaana bajayenge uspe tumko thumka lagana hai (I will play a song, and you have to shake a leg)," adding that if the officer does not dance, he could be suspended.
The BJP, JD(U), and the RJD’s ally Congress have all condemned Tej Pratap Yadav for pressuring the police officer to dance.
A JD(U) spokesperson stated that such behavior has no place in Bihar, while BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla described it as a "trailer" of what the RJD would do if it came to power. Congress leader Rashid Alvi also criticized Yadav, emphasizing that he does not have the authority to suspend anyone.
Tej Pratap also participated in the 'kurta faad' tradition, where a person's clothes are torn after being smeared with colors.
