Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said that Pakistan will be destroyed by the same terrorists it is harbouring today as he underlined India's resolve to strike at terrorism emanating from the soil of its neighbor.
Addressing the nation six days after the launch of Operation Sindoor, India's military offensive following the killing of 26 civilians by Pakistan based terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam, the Prime Minister reiterated that India has only "postponed" retaliatory action on Pakistan's terrorist and military bases.
"In the coming days, we will measure every step of Pakistan on the basis of what attitude it adopts," the Prime Minister said, underlining that Pakistan has been repad in the language it understands.
PM Modi further said that Operation Sindoor has drawn a new red line and established a new normal in terms of India's response to state-sponsored terrorism.
"The manner in which the government of Pakistan is providing water and fodder to terrorism, it will destroy itself one day. If Pakistan wants to save itself, it must eradicate its terror infrastructure completely. There is no other path to peace.
"India is clear in its understanding that terror and talks cannot go together, terror and trade cannot go together and water and blood also cannot flow together. Today, I would also like to tell the global community that it has been our declared policy that if there are talks with Pakistan, they will only be on terrorism; if there are talks with Pakistan, they will be on Pakistan Occupied Kashmir only," PM Modi added.
The Prime Minister also lauded the valour of India's armed forces and dedicated it to the daughters, sisters and mothers of the country. The Prime Minister's address came a day after India and Pakistan reached an agreement on halting military operations and initiated DGMO-level talks.
India has maintained that it has effectively accomplished the objectives it set out to achieve through Operation Sindoor and inflicted severe damage to Pakistan's terror infrastructure, killing over 100 terrorists and destroying nine terror camps.
