Pakistan Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has retracted his earlier claim that three Indian soldiers were captured as Prisoners of War (PoWs) following India's military strikes under Operation Sindoor, according to WION’s Pakistan bureau chief Anas Mallick.

Asif has now clarified that no Indian soldiers were taken into custody. However, he went on to allege—without providing any evidence—that Indian troops were abandoning their posts.

This follows India's launch of Operation Sindoor, during which its armed forces conducted targeted strikes on terrorist camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, reportedly resulting in the deaths of at least 17 militants and injuries to more than 60 others.
