In a major development in the Pahalgam terror attack, Srinagar Police have arrested a key Lashkar-e-Taiba (The Resistance Front) operative from South Kashmir’s Kulgam district for providing logistical support to terrorists killed in the recent Dachigam forest encounter, codenamed Op Mahadev.
The accused has been identified as 26-year-old Mohammad Yousuf Kataria, a seasonal teacher and resident of Kulgam. According to police, Yousuf was actively associated with LeT/TRF and had supplied equipment and other logistical support to terrorists operating in Pahalgam.
The arrest followed an analysis of weapons and equipment recovered from the site of Op Mahadev, which established Yousuf’s role in assisting the terrorists.
He was produced before a court and has been sent to judicial custody.
Police said his arrest marks a significant step in dismantling the support network that aided LeT/TRF terrorists in South Kashmir.
