A Squadron Leader was among five Pakistan Air Force (PAF) personnel killed in coordinated Indian missile strikes early on May 10, which targeted multiple air defence sites across Pakistan, according to The Times of India. Authorities confirmed the casualties and damage on Sunday after assessing the aftermath of the attack.
One of the strikes hit Base Bholari in Sindh’s Jamshoro district, resulting in the deaths of Squadron Leader Usman Yousaf and four other uniformed personnel. The base houses F-16 and JF-17 fighter jets and plays a vital role in Pakistan’s southern air operations.
While Pakistani authorities did not disclose specific material losses, Indian media—citing unverified reports—claimed damage to both aircraft and infrastructure.
Another significant target was the Rahim Yar Khan airbase, located within the international airport of the same name in Punjab province. The missile strike left a massive crater on a section of the runway, according to the district's deputy commissioner. Although commercial flights have resumed, military operations at the airbase remain severely restricted.
The Indian military reportedly targeted a total of eight PAF installations, including radar facilities in Pasrur and Sialkot. Additional Pakistani bases hit in the operation were Nur Khan Airbase, Rafiqui Airbase, Murid Airbase, and Chunian Airbase (Punjab).
