Opposition members of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), on Sunday, took their oath as Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) in the newly-constituted Maharashtra Assembly.

The opposition had boycotted the oath-taking ceremony on Saturday, the first day of the special three-day session, citing allegations of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) misuse during the recent state elections.

Key opposition leaders, including Congress' Nana Patole, Vijay Wadettiwar, and Amit Deshmukh, NCP (SP) leader Jitendra Awhad, and Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray, took their oaths as soon as the assembly reconvened on Sunday.

On Saturday, the opposition had also raised concerns over a curfew and arrests in Markadwadi village, located in the Malshiras assembly constituency of Solapur, where villagers had demanded a 'repoll' using ballot papers.
