India Pakistan war: Home Minister Amit Shah chaired a meeting on Friday to review the prevailing situation along India's border with Pakistan and airports in the country amid the military conflict between the two countries.
PTI said that apart from reviewing the security situation along the India-Pakistan border, Shah also took stock of the steps taken to beef up security at airports across the country in view of the prevalent situation under Operation Sindoor.
The crucial meeting came hours after the Border Security Force said it has foiled an infiltration bid from across the International Border in Jammu, killing at least seven terrorists and destroying a Pakistan Rangers post.
The meeting was attended by Director Generals of Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), Home Secretary, Director of Intelligence Bureau and focussed on security along the border with Pakistan and airports in the country.
Earlier on Thursday night, the home minister spoke to chiefs of the country's border guarding forces, including the BSF that guards India's border with Pakistan.
PTI reported that during this conversation he took stock of the situation along the international borders in times of heightened tension between India and Pakistan following India's strike on multiple locations in Pakistan and PoK on Wednesday and Pakistan's attempts to strike Indian military sites on Thursday.
The Indian armed forces foiled successfully foiled all the attempts made by Pakistan.
The directors general of the border guarding forces briefed the home minister about the prevailing situation and the steps taken to beef up security said.
While the BSF guards the India-Pakistan and India-Bangladesh borders, the ITBP guards India's border with China and the SSB guards the border with Nepal and Bhutan.
Shah also spoke to the chief of the CISF and took stock of the security at airports in the country, the report added.
The CISF guards most of the airports in India, metro networks and other vital installations.
