Former Mumbai Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede, on Saturday, said his defamation case against Netflix and Red Chillies Entertainment is a fight for his dignity and faith in the country’s judicial system.
Speaking to reporters about his ongoing legal battle, Wankhede said, "I have faith in our judiciary, our constitution and the system of our country. I am a loyal soldier of the government of India," further adding, "there are numerous checks and balances in our system, and there is a proper rule book, the Consitution, according to which we work. One person does not make the decisions here. Everything has been done according to the rules and regulations."

The former NCB zonal director further noted, "It is not about any publicity; it is about dignity".
“The kind of hate messages I have been getting, no self-respecting man will remain silent on it. I will fight this legal battle to whatever extent possible. I have presented all the messages before the Delhi High Court,” Wankhede said.
The former NCB officer, who had earlier filed a defamation suit against Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s production company Red Chillies Entertainment and streaming platform Netflix over Aryan Khan’s directorial venture The Bads of Bollywood, has maintained that the series portrays him in a false and damaging light.
The Delhi High Court, last month, had refused to entertain a plea filed by the former NCB zonal director against Aryan Khan's Netflix series.
Wankhede had approached the court claiming that the series, produced by Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., defamed him. However, the court observed that the plea was “not maintainable” in Delhi and questioned why the defamation suit had been filed in the capital instead of Mumbai.
The High Court, while refusing to grant immediate relief, issued summons to Red Chillies Entertainment and other respondents in the civil defamation case.
The matter will be heard next on October 30.
The series The Bads of Bollywood is currently streaming on Netflix, where it has been trending at No. 1.
