The Supreme Court on Thursday ruled that no further cases will be registered against Tamil Nadu minister and DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin without its permission over his remark against Sanatan Dharma, extending its interim order protecting him from any coercive action.
On September 2, 2023, DMK's Udhayanidhi Stalin who is the son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, sparked controversy by calling for the “eradication” of Sanatan Dharma.
He had compared it to diseases like dengue and malaria, saying that it needed to be eliminated for the welfare of society.
